Year 1 Cycles
Year 1 Cycles are an italian cycles & custom cycles & component specialists who specialise exclusively with Epoca bikes & Campagnolo.
Owner Simon Bruce has for over 50 years now has created one of a kind & fabricated bespoke, made-to measure cycles for the serious cyclist.
Many years ago, owner Simon purchased a Beta wrench from a local stockist and was so impressed with the quality and handling and options of beta tools that since that time, has been using Beta Tools only on a regular basis to compliment the bikes he builds. Originally The local beta stockist closed and to keep loyal to Beta, Simon changed suppliers and now orders all his Beta products from Beta stockist SJ Andrew in Redruth, Cornwall.
Simon said “I need to use extremely high quality products which will not fail in use and work to the highest standards possible for the bikes i build or fabricate and components and for customers ease of mind which is why I only buy and use exclusively Beta tools. The beta chainbreaker I use is the best I’ve ever had or used”.
In addition to the tools, Simon’s workshop contains a number of Beta toolboxes including the limited edition C33. In fact, Simon was one of the first in the UK to take delivery of the box – lucky for him as they have now sold out.

We contacted Jonathan Kessleman, from Gilbert Laurence in Uxbridge the Beta stockist for London for help, they arranged a visit with Mike Lappage the Area Sales manager who assessed our requirements and a solution was proposed.
“We have just taken delivery of the new Beta C55 range for our service and MOT area and can thoroughly recommend this system, our aim was to improve the workshop layout, allowing us to give a better service to our customers and we are very pleased with the result “
French Family Bakery Since 1936 draws on the expertise of an Italian Family run Hand Tool business founded in 1939
The story of Brioche Pasquier began in 1936 when Gabriel Pasquier opened a small village bakery in Les Cerqueux, France. In 1974, his sons began building the family business into Brioche Pasquier, which now employs over 3,000 people worldwide. Today, they still follow the same baking methods that Gabriel used to deliver a unique taste.
With over 4 million Brioche Pasquier products enjoyed every day, it is little wonder that they are the No.1 brand in the brioche market.
Founded at the end of the First World War, the iron and steel die workshop expanded and developed and, in 1939, registered “Beta” for the production of professional hand tools that became its core business from the Second World War onwards.
Brioche Pasquier required expert advice on how best to resolve their Tool Control requirements in their new production facility at Milton Keynes
On recommendation of The Hayley Group in Milton Keynes, it was suggested that Brioche Pasquier use the expertise of Beta Tools, as they had extensive experience in dealing with similar projects within other food processing facilities across the UK.
The objective was simple; to organize all of the tooling requirements for a new and expanding manufacturing section, and by working closely with Teressa Jolley from Hayley Group and Mike Lappage from Beta Tools, they were able to identify the exact tools required; high quality tools storage and superb Module System drawer layout that would satisfy all of their needs.
Janis Cerpins, Production Line Technician from Brioche Pasquier said: –
“Nothing was too much trouble and we were impressed by the can-do attitude of both companies. I can highly recommend them both and will definitely be looking for more solutions from Beta Tools and The Hayley Group in the future”.

Beta At The Belfrey
Chris Minton is the head mechanic at the prestigious Belfry Hotel and Resort. Working with Colin Barkby, the two engineers service and maintain the hundreds of ground maintenance and green keeping machinery which are used on a daily basis by the army of ground staff to keep the course and grounds in perfect condition.
The Belfry maintenance department had been using a random mix of hand tools which had built up over time. When the opportunity came about to standardise the tooling, they came to the marketplace looking for quality products and the ability to tailor-make a tool kit to exactly suit their specialised needs.
Chris said “After being introduced to Beta by our local Beta stockist, two guys from Beta came to see us and provided a bespoke service from day one. We were
really impressed with the extensive range and quality of tooling available from Beta. Further on-site visits from the team at Beta have seen us design and build bespoke tool kits from scratch with advice on tool box layout too. The end result gave us well organised tool kits that meet our every need.
We are very pleased with the end result. Beta Tools and our local Beta distributor have provided us with ongoing support throughout.”
Chris also said; “We would highly recommend Beta Tools to anyone looking for a quality tooling solution for their business”
Many thanks Chris from the team at Beta Tools UK; we were delighted to be able to serve your tooling needs.

We contacted Beta Tools UK through the recommendation of Hayley Bearings in Milton Keynes and we were very impressed with the professionalism and level of service from both companies.
Our project was to organize the tooling requirements for our growing manufacturing section and working closely with Mike lappage from Beta tools we were able to identify the tools and foam layout needed to satisfy all of our needs.
We are extremely pleased with the results and we will be looking for more solutions from Beta Tools in the future.
We would highly recommend Beta tools to anyone who is after a quality, professional range of tools and service.
Roger Morgan Internal Supply Manager
Chessington World of Adventure
“We originally approached Beta Tools UK through the recommendation of the London Bearing Company and were very impressed with the level of service and the attention to detail we received.
Our project aim was to organize the tooling requirement for each ride at the theme park and with 27 different themed ride requirements; the task was not easy… Mike lappage our contact at Beta Tools, gave us advice in terms of tool-box layout. These were designed individually and put into a C24S Roller Cabinet with bespoke thermoformed foam trays. This means we get great control of our tools and we can see instantly if everything is not replaced, offering full tool accountability for each ride. And this is crucial for safety.
What we appreciated most about working with Mike and his team was their ability to quickly recognize our needs and the importance of safety on the project, whilst at the same time, keeping everyone informed and delivering the kits on time for our crucial season opening.
We are very pleased with the results, and the attention to detail from Beta tools throughout the process was very impressive.
We would recommend Beta tools to anyone who needs a range of quality professional tools, combined with a “can do” approach to solving individual toolingsolutions.”
